The Apple Tree is just off the A49 at Onibury, between Ludlow and Craven Arms in Shropshire. It's easily missed, needing you to turn off the main road just by the level crossing, but make the effort.
It doesn't look like a pub, having spent a good deal of its existence as the village shop, but it's back to being a pub now, albeit with big windows. The main bar is the the 'shop' area, with scrubbed tables and a very chatty, conversational atmosphere. There is also a side lounge, offering a more homely feel.
Beers are from the excellent Ludlow Brewery, and there is a tasty selection of meals.
